The girls' kitchen, 1903 prospectus photograph

The curriculum had included butter making and cookery since Miss Fewings' time (headmistress 1886-1896). This image shows a wooden churn, and what perhaps is a gaslit stove to the right of the table. A set of scales can be seen on the left and what looks like an oven is in the foreground, on the right. The room is lined with shelves for pans, jugs, jelly moulds, colanders and plates. There is no sink visible in this picture. The kitchen is gaslit.
