Megan LLoyd George distributes prizes- programme cover 1947
Megan Lloyd George 1902 -1966 was the daughter of former pupil Margaret Lloyd George. She was brought up mainly at numbers 10 and 11 Downing Street. Her father, Lloyd George, was chancellor of the exchequer and prime minister. Megan was Wales first woman MP, winning her Anglesey seat as a Liberal in 1929. She was very well known as an inspirational speaker in the 1930s and 40s. Unlike her sister Carey, she was not educated at DWS. In the 1950s she campaigned for a Welsh assembly. In 1945 Megan Lloyd George joined the Labour Party and became MP for Camarthen.
