At Monday lunch for dessert we had lucky dip, this was all the puddings of the previous week covered in custard and was particularly nasty. We also had lots of figs which we all felt led to many cases of appendicitis!

Also one particularly horrible supper was "Mince Mouse", this was a type of brawn.

Places for meals were all selected, we had to collect in the gymnasium and wait for our names to be called. This ensured we did not sit next to anyone you knew, and woe betide you if you did not have a table napkin.
