George Lewis, a baker in Dolgellau and a former railway man.The bakery was owned by David Rowlands. Mr Rowlands was well known as a chapel choir master in the town. The bakery, situated near St Mary's church, was largely taken up by a huge and ancient oven. A visit was a Saturday treat, we would buy fresh Chelsea buns- just the best! The warm bread rolls we ate on Sunday mornings for breakfast, dripping with honey, were well worth cycling back for after early morning communion.
