Swimming gala, school pool on a sunny day summer 1965-66
Lots of swimmers are watched by the rest of the school. What they are doing exactly is a mystery! Meanwhile, the audience relaxes on the bank, all in their candy striped summer dresses. A blackboard, desk and chair, on the far side of the pool, suggest that this is the annual House Swimming Gala. It looks like it was the perfect day, as far as the weather was concerned. In the background can be seen Tremhyfryd and the school playing field. The field was the scene of many a cricket practice in summer under the watchful and sometimes exasperated eye of DBL, a keen cricketer herself in her time.
