Shy and nervous in 1958 to 'confident' VI former in 1964
I wanted to go away to school, my brother went to Llandovery College when I was seven years of age and it seemed exciting. I was also reading 'Mallory Towers' and other books depicting boarding school life. My parents said they would not send me away to school until I was 12 years old and only if I then wanted to go. Four years later I was still determined to spend some of my school days at a boarding school.
