Sheila Miller's wartime school timetable 1942 or 43
Form V1B subjects ranged from History,Latin and French to Elocution, Gym and Current Events.
G.T.C.(crossed out) stood for the Girls'Training Corps which was formed in 1942. Quote from the school magazine July 1942,'Our activities have taken many forms, from collecting paper salvage, to raising money for Warships Week, to marching in threes on the flat roof as a member of the newly formed G.T.C. to asking Mr Donald Grant searching questions about the world situation.'(I don't know who Mr Grant was)
Read Sheila Miller's 'Wartime Jottings' and see the G.T.C.standing to attention on the flat roof. There's a photo of Sheila too, sitting next to the legendary Do Davies. (Just click on the Related Items links)- Uploaded by:Jennifer Hutcheson
